Carolina Coops knows the importance of keeping your flock safe. It’s why coop security is such a high priority for us with all the materials we use.

We use green PVC coated 16 gauge steel welded wire rolled fencing that is 2 foot wide with 2” x 3” rectangular mesh opening. It is readily available at hardware stores.

Please note: Predator aprons are only included in our turn-key service.

Carolina Coops installs the predator apron only on turn-key service for our clients. We pneumatically attach the wire fencing with 1.25 inch stainless steel staples at the base of the coop all the way around the perimeter.

If a burrowing animal wants to get in to your chicken coop, they will start digging at the base of the coop, they will not back up 2 feet and start digging. The predator apron prevents any diggers from getting inside your coop. We cannot stress enough the importance of installing a predator apron to keep your chickens safe from predators.
