Carolina Coop

Our Carolina Coops are made with premium Douglas fir lumber handpicked by us. Our chicken coops are stick framed just like a house with 2×4 and 2×6 lumber. Our “panelized” chicken coops are fabricated in our climate-controlled shop and shipped to you in panels (each henhouse wall or run section is a panel). This is to ensure it can get through gates, maneuver through wooded areas or around hardscaping. The advantage is most of the assembly is done, leaving a nice weekend project for you to complete. Depending on the size of the coop and your skill level, this is typically an 8 hour project for the average homeowner.

Standard features include:

  • ✔ Black hardware cloth wire and henhouse screen doors
  • ✔ HDPE deep litter bed, 12″ deep to accommodate enough dry material for successful deep litter practices
  • ✔ Deep litter door with hidden latches that flips down for easy clean out
  • ✔ 1-2 egg hutch(es) with 3 nests each
  • ✔ Polycarbonate window inserts
  • ✔ Henhouse with lift-off doors
  • ✔ Silver/gray/Galvalume residential metal roofing
  • ✔ Exterior zinc hardware (latches, hinges)
  • ✔ 2-3 roost bars, equal to the width of your coop (i.e. 4×6 henhouse has two 6′ roost bars, suitable for at least 12 hens)
  • ✔ Unpainted

Our most popular chicken coop! We can customize the size of this coop based on the size of your flock and your property.

American Coop

Our American Coop is made with the same high quality materials and in the same fashion as the Carolina Coop. It’s has the same footprint as the Carolina chicken coop, (6’x12′ footprint, 7 1/2′ tall with 4×6 henhouse elevated and inset in 6×12 run) and includes the upgraded wire and a modified version of the henhouse screen doors. The American coop does not include the HDPE lining in the deep litter bed and egg hutch, the roofing system is simplified (we have eliminated the notched purlins and are using the ribs in the roofing for that support), the 2x4s are not planed so the eased edge remains, some trim is eliminated by using the framing as the trim (2 layers), rather than the 3 layers on the Carolina Coop – frame, henhouse wall, then trim. The henhouse screen doors are a removable panel rather than a lift-off door.

Standard features include:

  • ✔ Black hardware cloth wire and henhouse screen doors
  • ✔ Deep litter bed, 12″ deep to accommodate enough dry material for successful deep litter practices (can be upgraded to include HDPE)
  • ✔ Deep litter door with hidden latches that flips down for easy clean out
  • ✔ One egg hutch with 3 nests suitable for 12 hens
  • ✔ Two 6-foot roost bars suitable for 12-15 chickens
  • ✔ Henhouse doors with removable panels
  • ✔ Polycarbonate lift up windows
  • ✔ Silver/gray/Galvalume residential metal roofing
  • ✔ Exterior zinc hardware (latches, hinges)
  • ✔ Unpainted

Shipped to you on a 4×6 pallet in panels with the wire and henhouse panels unattached to make painting or staining easier for the customer.

*Photo shown includes American chicken coop upgrades: extra egg hutch, special order roofing color, black hardware, and paint.
