Generally, $75 for a local delivery (10 miles) from either of our current locations (Shortsville, NY and Raleigh, NC), each mile thereafter is $2/mile to the delivery destination. You may also pick up from either location for free.
**Long distance delivery for “Turn Key Service” can be negotiated** We calculate delivery from the closest location to you.
We meticulously and securely stack your coop pieces/panels on a 4’x6′ pallet, which is 7.5′ tall for panels (on an A-frame). The entire pallet is securely banded and neatly wrapped for LTL (less than truckload) freight shipping. We insure every chicken coop for the full purchase price to ensure that your purchase is covered, 100% against carrier damage, loss, or theft. The carrier is obligated to call ahead for an appointment and deliver to your specified address with a lift gate truck to off load your pallet with ease. Unless otherwise ordered, the carrier is only obligated to off load your pallet on your property, but cannot block access to your driveway or mailbox. They won’t take it in your garage, backyard, house, or outbuilding.
Shipping is based on weight, size, and distance so we can’t give you an estimated quote unless we know what coop you want, and your zip code. Our coops weigh 1,000 lbs. or more and we ship across the U.S. all the time. Most shipping ends up to be around $500, but ranges from $350-$950. You can save on shipping if we ship to a business or shipping terminal where you pick it up locally, usually with a trailer.
When accepting delivery of your shipment, it is extremely important to take your time and use your best judgement as to the condition of the package upon arrival. Anything that may look damaged, mishandled, loose parts, disheveled and unorganized, not wrapped neatly and tightly or on more than one pallet: REQUIRES NOTATION ON THE “BILL OF LADING” PRIOR TO SIGNING! If there is anything questionable, please note it prior to signing off on the delivery. Even if it may look very minor, it may have caused damage internally that we have to claim after the driver has left, and you start unpacking your package.
Please note: We ask that when you schedule delivery, make sure you will be unpacking your pallet within two days of delivery, especially if there were damages noted. We only have two days post delivery to claim any “internal damage or loss” to the carrier to be covered under the insurance policy. If there is a need for replacement parts, if claimed within the stated time frame, replacement, and shipping costs will be covered by the carrier. If you do not inspect your package thoroughly withing the stated time frames, the carrier will not be liable for anything to be replaced, shipped or otherwise. The cost will be up to the buyer of the contents of the package.
